Weeknotes 117

It’s been a little while since my last weeknote; Not because I haven’t had a lot to say, but because I found writing falling down the priority list in favour of some other things.

I assumed that eventually when I want to write a weeknote, I’ll write a weeknote. So here we are, I owe myself a weeknote and this is the last chance to write one in April.

What’s been happening?

  • We went to Malta for a big family holiday with my wife’s side of the family. I worked mornings while I was there and it worked pretty well, taking the sting out of not earning completely. Malta was wonderful and waking up every day with a view of the ocean was a real treat.

  • Work with ecosyste.ms has continued, we’re now deep into implementing a funding performance dashboard. I’m really enjoying the combined challenge of design and implementation, and the buzz around the project has been really encouraging.

  • I started working with a new client on a website redesign, it’s going well. We’ve been in the discovery phase for the past few weeks, but I’m itching to get started on the visual design phase which starts soon.

  • I’ve picked up a couple of smallish graphic design projects so I’ve diverted a lot of the time I’d normally spend making stickers for myself to making stickers for other people.

  • I’m speaking at SDinGov in June

  • I’ve really enjoyed a gentle reintroduction to running, after an injury at the end of last summer, so I’ve signed up to a 10k
